Episode Transcript
We’ve got a pack show this week. We have fabulous recruiter of the week. We do. A crowd favorite I’m sure. Yeah. And he’s watched every episode, so he’s like really prepared for this. He definitely knows what to expect. I’m sure we won’t stump with any question that we ask. No, none whatsoever. Should we bring him in? I think we should bring him in. Let’s welcome Bill Gates. Hey Bill! Hey guys. How’s it going? Welcome! Good.
Yeah, things are going well. I didn’t realize this was such a show on wellness and how much medical advice I can learn from you. Lots of medical advice. If you need anything to come to us. What do you mean you didn’t realize? You watch this every week. That is so true. Yeah. That’s right. I guess this week we forgot to do our weather segment though so.
Yeah, you know yeah. There’s nothing too exciting to report here.
So we’ll skip it. True. Well, we’re so excited to have you. Firstly, before we get started, will you introduce yourself? Who are you? What do you do at Hirewell? I am Bill Gates, the one and only. I’m a partner here at Hirewell. I’ve been here for about 10 years now and I focus really on the HR recruiting side of the house.
Awesome 10 years. That’s not casual.
It’s gone quickly. I can’t say- it feels like it’s been 10 years. That’s for sure.
Well, we’re so happy to have you. We are going to play our rapid fire questions game with the one and only Bill Gates. We’re going to put two minutes on the clock and Bill, you’re going to have two minutes to answer questions as you can quickly but of course thoughtfully. Are you ready for this? I’m ready. All right, Ryan is going to ask your first question in three, two, go.
What’s your favorite thing about working with Hirewell? Favorite thing… I think the fact is, is that you basically can kind of be- it’s like having your own company in a company I think is the best thing. I know everyone has said kind of the people are one of the best things, which is a great perk. But I think at the end of the day, we do have great people, but I think the fact is is that you can really kind of make this job your own and you’re always certainly challenged on everything that you can do which is very unusual within a lot of the agency world.
Totally agree. That was really good answer. What was the first concert that you ever attended? Oh my God. Oh man. I think it was blink 182. I don’t even remember who the other one was, but I believe that I was like when I was in seventh grade or so. So maybe it dates me a little bit, but that’s a, yeah, that’s a blast from the past.
So are you excited about Travis burger’s engagement? Knew that was coming. I don’t even think I was necessarily a blink 182 fan when I went. I just went there because friends were going at the time. So might as well go. So I don’t even know who that is. I don’t know
All you Ryan! If you could be on any reality show, which one would it be and why? Oh my God. That’s a good question. Reality show and why? Oh, my God. That’s a pretty loaded question here. I know. Lots to choose from. Let’s see. I think maybe either Southern Charm or- I could see that. Maybe 10, 15 years ago, 20 years ago Below Deck.
There you go. Okay. Sure. I have a lot of questions, but we’re just going to keep going. If you were to have a movie made about you, what actor would play you? Oh, my God. Neil Patrick Harris. Yeah, that’s good. For sure. For sure. Would you rather stay at home, like stay in or go out? Go out. I thought that would be the case.
Final question. Final, final question. If you were not recruiting, what would your dream job be. Ooh, God, there’s so many of them. I’m already in my dream job, obviously, but- as all of us are. Yeah, I always wanted to be a recruiter growing up. That’s no question what I used to write on those little sheets when I was four or five years old.
That’s what I always put down. Okay. Well now what would you write? I’d probably be if- I mean a professional basketball player. That’s what I would say. I thought you were going to go professional golf route. I mean, that sounds like a great idea too but the difference is you don’t get locked in on contracts there.
You got to earn it. And you know, if I was in a golf, professional goal thing position- I guess this is a hypothetical. I wouldn’t last long and I wouldn’t be making any money. I’d be finishing dead last. Such a strategic answer. We need some more rules for these hypothetical questions you know. You did great! You make your own rules. Yeah, you killed it.
I mean that was awesome. You know, I thought you guys had a couple more that you were going to stump me on, but overall, not as hard as I thought they were going to be. Okay. Well, we’ll have you back and that’s when we’re going to ask the really hard hitting questions, so prepare for that.
Love it. Well, thank you for having me guys. Appreciate it. Thanks for coming. We’ll see you later. See you guys!
