Let’s bring in this week’s recruiter of the week: Maggie. Hey Maggie! How are you? We’re great now that you’re here. I have been anxiously awaiting your recruiter of the week segment because I don’t know if everybody knows this, but prior to Maggie joining Hirewell, I was doing a lot of our internal recruiting and Maggie has been my saving grace. Building that out, taking it off of my plate and you have done a fabulous job
I have to say. Well thank you! It’s funny because everyone loves Maggie, but I feel like Ryan loves Maggie the most because of how much you just like saved her life. Well, great. Happy to hear it. No, I mean I can’t even imagine running your own desk and all the hiring that’s going on here. That’s insane that you were doing that.
I appreciate you giving me some, some big shoes to fill. No, you have filled them quite your own, but you’ve done a great job. I mean, it’s not like you walked in and we were just doing a little bit of hiring. I mean Em and I have been saying literally every show for like well over a year, how Hirewell’s hiring.
So before we kind of dive into things, like introduce yourself, what do you do at Hirewell? And tell us maybe a little bit about what’s going on with some of our open positions. Yeah, of course. So I am the internal recruiter here at Hirewell. I joined, I want to say like seven months ago. So still fairly new, but it is funny.
I feel like I’ve been here for forever. Like I can’t remember life before Hirewell. Didn’t exist. Yeah, right. But I’d say some of- well on Ryan’s team specifically, we have two kind of open roles right now. A lead recruiter role and then also a talent sourcing specialist too. Those are two of the new ones, but honestly we’re hiring across the board.
So if you’re an experienced recruiter or looking for a new job and want to work with us, please reach out. I love it. I love it. Amazing. We both love it. Well, we’re super excited to chat with you. I’m sure you’re so familiar because you watch our show every week, but just in case, we are going to play our rapid fire questions game.
We’ll put two minutes on the clock. Your job is to answer as many questions as you can quickly, but of course, thoughtfully. We are coming at you with them. Are you ready? I am ready. All right. Two minutes on the clock. Ryan will ask your first question in three, two, go. Maggie what’s your favorite thing about working at Hirewell?
Okay so I’ve been trying to think of something new and fresh and fun to say for this. But what’s true is true. It is the people. I will say Joel and I just recently had a conversation about this too. And one other thing that I think is very special about Hirewell is that what you hear in the interview process is like exactly what it’s like
working here as an employee as well. Definitely it’s not oversold or anything like that. It’s exactly, you know, you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into, which I really appreciate. Transparency is so key. Exactly. Who is your favorite character from like book, movie, TV show, anything? I think I’d say Nick Miller from New Girl.
I’ve watched that- it’s my comfort show. So I watch it over and over again. What is your morning routine like when you’re working from home? Okay. It’s very, very short. It’s basically get out of bed, brush my hair, brush my teeth, put my glasses on, probably just like a sweater, sweatshirt over my pajamas. And then a little bit later, the day I’ll put on some actual pants.
That’s sounds very similar to mine. Brush your hair is one more step than I do. I was going to say I obviously have not taken that step either, but sounds good. We’ll add it on. We’ll add it to our list. There you go. For sure. What is your favorite type of sandwich? Good question. I love- it’s new to me. I don’t know why they must not have them in Wisconsin, but Jersey Mike’s is like my new go-to. What’s your order? They probably do have them in Wisconsin,
but not that I was aware of. But just their ham and provolone. It’s fantastic. Yes! Jersey Mike’s, sponsor us.
Since you’re in Chicago Maggie, what is your all-time favorite summertime Chi activity that you’re looking forward to? We’re like gearing up for summer already. I’m ready for it. Love long walks. Shopping is usually my destination, but the walk there’s even better. And Chicago is unstoppable when it comes to long walks. I feel you on that one. The best. Okay. Last couple were going like, boom, boom, boom. Ready?
Cats or dogs? Dogs. Stay in or go out? Go out, reluctantly but go out. Sweet or savory? Savory. That’s it. That’s all I have. Okay. You did it. You’re done. You crushed it. Crushed it, crushed it. Well, thanks for joining us Maggie. It was great to have you finally, I feel like this has been a long awaited guest, for sure. And if anybody’s interested in reaching out about learning more about Hirewell, what’s the best way for them to get in touch with you?
Yeah. LinkedIn obviously is super easy and then also my email is maggie@hirewell.com. Very simple. So you can reach out to me there too. Yay Maggie! Thank you so much. I’m going to brush my hair just for you. Thank you, Emily. Enjoy your trips you two. Thank you. We’ll see you soon Maggie.
