Episode Transcript

Should we bring in this week’s recruiter or should I say recruiters of the week? Recruiter and co, and Co recruiter to be. Let’s bring in Marc and Walker.

Good Morning! Yay Walker! Sourcer in the making. This is how we are so successful Marc, now we see. This is when we tell our clients we’ll dedicate as many resources as possible, it’s Walker sourcing, doing what it needs to do. Oh my God. The face, the hat, the everything. Well, I don’t even know if we should ask anything or if we should just stare at Walker and see what he decides to do, but. I want to like call, like I know Jack always tries to bring Bogey to like keep it into the- I’m sorry

this wins. Yeah, baby’s over puppies every day of the week. We get into the debate of like puppies versus babies. It’s like a challenging debate. But, I mean challenge no longer- Walker won for sure. Yeah. I heard you all talking a few weeks ago about needing more babies and dogs on the show so I thought I’d help out. I considered having my dog as well, but it’s a little bit too much to juggle at once

as you can see. You’re doing great as it is. Yeah, well we don’t want- well I’m sure Walker is a lot of places to be we don’t want to keep him forever. We’re going to play our rapid fires questions game with Marc and Walker. Two minutes will go on the clock. Marc and Walker, you have two minutes to answer as many questions as you can as quickly but of course as thoughtfully as possible. Before we begin Marc, who are you and what do you do at Hirewell?

All right, Marc Dobkin. I live in Boise, Idaho with my wife and son. And for those at Hirewell that don’t know yet, we have a little girl on the way due in March. I’m going to have two sourcers, so I’m really going to kick butt on the managed recruiting practice.

Amazing. Well, congratulations to you and your wife and to Walker. You’re going to be a big brother. That’s so exciting! So freaking cute oh my gosh. Well let’s get into this. We love good news, happy news on this show. Two minutes is going on the clock. Ryan is going to ask your first question in three, in two, go! What’s your favorite thing about working at Hirewell?

So obviously it’s the people, but I’m not gonna go there because everybody says that. I would say the creativity. It’s what brought me to Hirewell. The 10 Minute Rant, The Employer Content show, the Weekly Hirewell Update, all of the content put out by the employees, the on demand, the MRP team, all of that.

It’s just, we’re creative. We think outside of the box and I think we’re disrupting the recruiting industry, so that’s what I love most. Totally agree. That’s actually a really great answer. And you get to bring your baby to work.

That’s another bonus. What is one item on your bucket list? Oh, one item on my bucket list? That’s a tough one. I wasn’t prepared for this one. I would have to say I’ve done a bit of international traveling but I’ve never been to Europe so that would be nice- somewhere in Europe,

maybe Greece. Yes, for sure.

How about what’s your most used emoji? That would have to be probably the emoji with the heart eyes because there’s a lot of texting back and forth between my wife and I with pictures of this guy. So you can imagine why we’re doing that.

What’s your favorite home cooked meal? Home cooked meal? I’m going to say my wife’s favorite home cooked meal because I do most of the cooking. So she

loves my compile chicken. Ooh,

Sign me up. She does most of the taking care of Walker. So I’ll do the house stuff to sort of relieve her. A lot of the cooking, cleaning, things like that around here. Love that partnership. That’s awesome. We’re a great team. It sounds like it. What’s your favorite thing about being a parent? I mean, look at this guy, come on.

The minute I met him I fell in love and I’ve just been in awe every day since. I find myself staring at him nonstop, when he’s sleeping or when we’re putting him down to bed. I mean, just playing with this guy. Everything, all the milestones. I see him starting to crawl, eat on his own, starting to make sounds.

The best thing is him laughing and smiling. And I mean that’s what I live for these days. Anything I can do to make this kid laugh it is what I do. So that’s my favorite thing. I’m like crying over here. I know! We have to end it on that. Yeah, I mean, I get you completely.

I send Ryan pictures of my niece all the time. If you receive pictures of my neice- if you don’t, let me know. I’ll add you to the list. He’s like I’m the baby on the show today, only talk about me. Oh my gosh. Well you both literally crushed that. The bar was just raised up here. Yeah, we’re going to have the send this- we’re going to make sure every single one of our colleagues watches this so they have to step their game up when they come on the show or come back on the show.

I mean, that was amazing. Walker, you were incredible. Everybody give Walker a big round of applause. Yay Walker!

You’re so cute. I hope Brittany’s watching this. I hope so too. We’ll have to send it to her if she hasn’t had a chance to tune in today. Well Marc that was just beyond the best. Thank you so much for joining! We can’t wait to have both of you back. Please, please, please. We’ll get the baby there next year. Yes! So exciting.

Thank you. Thanks so much for having me on. It’s always so great to be on the show with you ladies so early in the morning. Say bye Walker. Bye Walker. Bye Marc. See you guys later.
