We’re excited to have this recruiter of the week back in action. We are. So should we bring them in? Mike Lipinski, come on down. Hey Mike, good morning.

Good morning Emily and Ryan. What’s up Lip? Just crushing it you know. I feel bad though. You had your three-year anniversary. If I was actually on the show last week, it would have been my two years. So we’re all in the same boat here, I guess. And my four-year anniversary is coming up next month.

So like lots of exciting anniversaries happening. Which I love! How many like recruiting agencies can say that easily in one conversation you have like a four-year person, a three-year like, you know it’s just- it’s exciting. It’s nice to have such a strong group here. Yeah. That’s the huge seller to Hirewell, is everyone’s been here forever.

And it’s – wait! You have to save it for when we ask you about the best part about Hirewell is.

The thing is don’t say it now. I have to put it in my montage later this year. So don’t say it yet. I have to ask you the question. I’m just waiting for the backpack. That’s all I want. Next year! I got my bag pack. I love it. Well Mike, we’re so excited to have you on. We want to play our rapid-fire questions game with you. We are going to put two minutes on the clock.

In those two minutes, we are going to ask you as many questions as we can. Your job is to answer this question as quickly but of course as thoughtfully as possible. Before we start, introduce yourself. Who are you? And what do you do at Hirewell? So I’m Mike Lipinski. I’ve been with Hirewell for two years. I am the director of our technology group.

And you crush it. Just so you guys know, Mike gets things done. If you need something done, Mike is your guy. Staffing equals Mike. Doesn’t joke around. Oh, that’s too funny. I appreciate it. All right, well rapid fire questions. I’ve got two minutes on the clock. Ryan is going to ask your first question in three, in two, go. Mike what’s your favorite thing about working at Hirewell? It’s not a trick question. It’s obvious. It’s the people for sure. It absolutely is. It’s honestly the truth and it’s the truth. We agree. Mike what did you want to be when you grew up, when you were younger? You know, I actually thought I was going to be a professional baseball player. That didn’t work out so well.

I mean I literally grew up playing baseball all the time and it was everything I did. And one day I realized this is not going to work. It’s time to grow up and become an adult. What position did you play? I played second base and short stop. Okay. I knew short stop. I don’t know why. I just had a feeling. You had like shortstop vibes from Mike. Very much so.

Now I just relive my youth playing 12 in softball like old people. I love it though. Do you have like a favorite MLB team? I mean, you’ve gotta go with the White Sox. Oh obviously! All the Cubs lovers at Hirewell- I mean, you know, Sox all the way. I’m a Sox fans too Mike. I’m definitely in the same realm as you with that.

But what is like your typical work from home outfit? What’s your day-to-day look like? Oh boy. I’d say kind of what I’m in now- Under Armour, maybe some PJ’s, slippers, nothing fancy, usually a hat. I liked the Under Armour though. Under Armour sponsor us. This is when we ask for sponsorships- every show. Eventually it’ll work.

What was the first concert that you ever attended? Oh boy. I think it was Backstreet boys. Wow! Really? Okay so were you backstreet boys or in sync? I was actually- I mean, I wouldn’t say I was in love with either one of them. It was actually with my wife. We went to the same concert and she was a big fan, so yeah. I was like not expecting that. I would not have guessed that at all, but I’m into it. Yeah, absolutely. I mean who doesn’t love a little backstreet boys? I mean everybody loves a little boy band action. If they say that they don’t, they’re lying.

That’s a fact. Another question for you Mike. Have you ever completed any item on your bucket list? Yeah, I mean for sure. I ran a marathon- that was on the bucket list. I’ve gone overseas. I mean yeah, I’ve had a lot of things on a bucket list. Still things to do, you know? I might run a marathon. Are you sure you want to run a marathon? No, but like you said it, and I’m like I got to do that. Yeah. It’s a lot of training but doing it, like growing up in sports, I think it was the hardest thing that I ever had to train for and it was the most self-rewarding to do. It was amazing. Like, honestly, it was great.

Which one did you run? In Chicago? I did the Chicago in 2014, I think. Okay. I’m going to do it. I’m adding it to my list. Next year Em will be running the Chicago marathon and Mike will be cheering her. You won’t have a life during the summer but you’ll just be running in great shape, trust me. Gorgeous. We’ll do it. I have one more question for you.

What are you reading or watching right now? The only thing that I’ve been reading recently is information on how to put like a baby crib together. So in case you didn’t know, I’m throwing that out there for you. Talk about big news. This is the show to just drop all the like mic drop for everybody. Drop the ball, you know?

Yeah my wife and I, we’re ready or not ready, but expecting and it’s going to be on St. Patty’s day. So little girl. St. Patty’s Day. Yay! Congrats, Mike. We are so thrilled for you. Obviously Em and I are selfish in the fact that like, we’re very happy that there’s going to be more Hirewell babies too. So we will be expecting

Lipinski baby to join us next year. Yes! That’s not an issue at all. We’re going to teach her early how to source.

Good luck with that! Maybe she’ll be running the ICV platform- you never know. Here’s to hoping! You know what I mean? I’m down for that. I mean yeah. If I were to back somebody I’d back your baby, for sure. For sure. Mike’s baby for everything. Well Mike, you crushed it. Thank you so, so much for joining us. It was a pleasure to have you- and congrats on the big news. Hopefully we do it again in a lesser time,

you know, we don’t have to wait a year max time. So fingers crossed. I hope so too. Excited for next year then so that you can join us again. No problem. Thanks Mike. We’ll see you.
