Episode Transcript

We’re going to kick things off today with the recruiter of the week. We are very excited. We obviously love the segment. We talk about it every week. It’s so cool to meet our colleagues that are all over the place. We get to learn so much about them, and you all get to learn a lot about them too.

So this week we’re going to bring in Peter. Welcome to the show, Peter. Hey, how’s it going? Hey! Great. Pete, do you have any friends there with you mainly? Anyone who wants to join us? I do. I have one back here somewhere. My dog, Isabelle. She is here always with me throughout the day, so you might see her pop up here and there.

If Isabelle wants to like come into the forefront, the non blurry part of the screen today, we won’t mind if- you know, it can happen sporadically. Just a formal invitation. She always steals the show. So I’m used to it. So cute. So cute. Well, we’re so excited to have you. Will you start us off? Introduce yourself.

Who are you and what do you do at Hirewell and where are you? We always like to know where everyone is. Yeah, of course. So Pete Bosco, that’s my name. I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania now. Just moves back about a year ago from Charlotte, North Carolina. And I’m on the technical team. Nice.

We’re thrilled to have you. Thanks for joining us today. Yeah. I’ve got some silly questions for you, but I’m going to save them for rapid fire. Rapid fire questions, two minutes on the clock. You’re going to answer as many questions as you can, quickly but of course, thoughtfully. We’ll finish up that two minutes with a 30 second lightning round where you choose either one or. No gray area.

It’s just like first thing. I feel like Pete’s going to be good at this. Not really worried. I think so too. Yeah. Are you ready to rock and roll? Let’s do it. All right. Ryan’s going to ask you first question in 3, 2, 1, go. Pete, what’s your favorite thing about working at Hirewell? Yeah, I would say just the team environment.

I love the team here. And then just the ability to not be micromanaged, I guess. I come from a firm where I was very micromanaged. So I love being able to work on my own and push the results through. Love that. Love that. What’s your favorite sports team? The Pittsburgh Steelers are my football team, but other than that I’m a huge 70 Sixers fan.

Okay. I have so many follow up questions cuz like Philly, like the Eagles, undefeated so far at 4-0. Like we have nothing to say about that? I love it for the city. All my friends, they’re huge Eagles fans. Unfortunately I was raised a Steelers fan, so it’s going to be a long season. I’m not used to this type of turmoil.

So we’ll see how Kenny Pickett does for. Well, I appreciate it. Stick with your team. Pete, we’ll have to talk offline because I’m a diehard Browns fan, so I don’t know how all this relationship’s getting started here, but we’ll figure it out. Figure it out. Question for you, were there any foods when you were growing up that like you absolutely hated and do you still hate them or do you like them now?

Hated. I used to, believe it or not, I used to be the pickiest eater ever. So I would eat plain pasta and like pop tarts and like mac and cheese, like all the basic, you know, kid foods. And now I will literally eat anything that has any type of sauce on it, any type of garnish, anything at all,

I’ll eat it, you know? Love that. Broadening your horizons. Absolutely. What’s your guilty pleasure tv show? Ooh, guilty pleasure. I’ve been rewatching Suits a lot recently. So Suits is a good one. And Peaky Blinders. I mean, how can you go- you can’t go wrong with the Peaky Blinders. So good. Yeah. I thought they were actually quality shows though. So might need to dig deeper another time about like an actual guilty one, but that’s okay. You’re doing great.

That’s true. That’s true. One more question Ryan and then we’re getting into it. If you could have an unlimited supply of like anything, what would it be? Hmm. That’s a good question. Wow. Put me on the spot. If I got unlimited supply of anything- seafood, any type of seafood, pasta. If I could eat that for the rest of my life, I would.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Shrimp, scallops, lobster, crab, any of it. You’re making me hungry. I’m about to fast. So this is not- this is not kind to Em, that’s for sure. I would’ve chosen like endless dog treats for Isabel, but like that’s- same. That’s fine. That’s a good. Alright, here we go. Rapid fire questions game. Are you ready? Ready.

Alright, go out or stay in? Go out. Call or text? Call. Coffee or tea? Coffee- all day. Guac or Salsa? Salsa. Cook or take out? Take out. I should cook more, but take out all the way. Concert or sporting event?

Sporting event. Wow. You really to think about that one after all the sports talk. I’m surprised, but that’s cool. Zip up or pullover hoodie? Pullover all day. This one might- we might already know the answer, but dog or cats? Dogs, of course. Dogs forever. Of course. TVs or books? Tv. Pizza or burger or Philly cheese steak?

Burger just because Philly cheese steak is only for Philadelphia. So you can get a good burger anywhere. That’s fair. Okay, last really, really hard, tough, just tough question. So hard. Crunchy or smooth peanut butter? Smooth. Wow. He’s good. I knew you going to be good. He’s pretty good. You gave off the vibes, like this was going to be your deal.

I could go- I could go longer if you want. your only merit is can we get like- where is Isabelle? Yeah. Where’s she at? Hey! Join the show. There she is. Yup, she’s there all day, every day. And here she comes, ready to get some food. It’s dinner time for Izzy. Go feed her. Okay. Go feed it. Go feed your dog. Yeah, will do. Thanks for joining us, Pete. It was great to chat with you. Yeah, of course. Thanks for having me. We’ll see you next time. Bye. Bye.
