Episode Transcript

We’re going to kick things off this week with the recruiter of the week. A new face to the Hirewell update.

We love when new guests join us. It’s so much fun getting to share our different colleagues with our crew that tunes in every Wednesday to watch our show. So let’s bring in this week’s guest. Who do we have Em? What up Taylor? Hey Taylor. Hey, good morning y’all. Happy hump day. Good morning. Good morning. How are you?

How are you? Doing well. Midweek, getting through it. We’re getting through it, that’s for sure. How’s the weather your way, by the way? And where are you? So I’m in Rogue, Virginia. This is kind of like the change of seasons, you know. It’s getting more like fall weather flannel season. Flannel season! Like low sixties. Yeah.

Flannel season. I love that. That’s one of the best seasons there are. I know Em, you’re not quite getting the same weather that folks in the Midwest are because it’s definitely fall vibes in Chicago. Yeah. You know, I’m still like very invested in Chicago weather. So I like still have it. It’s like my main location on my phone app.

And I know Jack was saying, you know, on our team meeting, he’s like, “Yeah, it’s getting to sweater weather, sweater weather. But I don’t know. I might miss it. There’s about one and a half seasons here in Southern California, so who knows. I may miss it. Well Taylor, we’re so excited to have you on.

Before we get started, I know you mentioned you’re in Virginia. Will you tell us what team you’re recruiting for at Hirewell? Yeah, thank you guys for having me on. So I’m on the technology practice team, so TechSpace. Love it. Speaking that foreign language, which Em and I know nothing about. I’m just like, “Oh yeah, tech.”

Oh yeah, tech. Love it. Python. All about the buzzwords. Hashtag Java. Well we are- yeah, really time to move on for us. Rapid fire questions game. Are you ready for this Taylor? Let’s go. Two minutes on the clock. You have those two minutes to answer each question as quickly, but of course, as thoughtfully as possible.

We’re going to wrap up those last 30 seconds with our lightning round. And in the lightning round there’s no gray area, so you just go with your gut. First answer that comes to mind, bam. You don’t have to do the sound effects, but if you want to, you also can. You can if you want to. Sound effects are welcome.

Sure. All the thing. Alright, are you guys ready to rock and roll? So ready. All right. Ryan’s going to ask your first question in 3, 2, 1, go. Taylor, what’s your favorite thing about working at Hirewell? Favorite thing? Probably just the teamwork, the effort, getting to collaborate multiple different departments that sort of thing. I love it.

Amazing. What’s your favorite fall activity? Oh, fall activity. Really excited to go to the pumpkin patch here shortly. Me and my girlfriend are like planning a trip for that. Excited for that. That’ll be fun. It’s a fall necessity for sure. Yeah. The best, absolutely. What are you currently reading or watching? You can pick one or the other.

Oh. So honestly, haven’t picked up a book in a little too long, but- no judgment. Yeah. Big on like Netflix. Right now, watching this like kind like zombie horror show called Black Summer. It’s pretty good. I feel like we should ask that question more often because I have like so many shows to talk about.

I know. I’m running low on shows, so that’s why I had to ask. We’ll ping you after this. Okay, what was the first concert that you ever attended? Concert. I think it was like Juicy J. I’m not- can we get a little sample? Say what? Favorite juicy- little sample of your favorite Juicy J song. Oh man. I don’t even, I can’t even like name any off the top of my head anymore.

It’s like high school days. It wad a while ago. Time has passed. Put it behind us. That is amazing, by the way. Taylor, have you ever completed an item on your bucket list? And if so, what? Oh man. I don’t wanna bucket list. I’ve traveled to Europe, that was on there. There you go. Yeah. Got that done. Nothing super crazy.

There’s a few like jumping out of a plane and some cool stuff that I’m working on getting to here slowly. I’m- power to you on the planes. Okay, last fall related question and then lightning round. Do you have a Halloween costume planned? Oh man. I think- a little early for that, but it’s a month away. It’s a little early.

I think I kind of let my girlfriend just like decide for us, but I think we’re like being like the Teletubbies or something silly. Amazing. Well you know you we’re going to need photos of whatever your costume ends up being, especially if it’s the Teletubbies. I hope so. All right, lightning round. Let’s do this. Okay, let’s go.

Are you an early bird or a night owl? Little bit- like definitely both. Like weekdays, early bird. Night out on the weekends probably. Fruits or veggies? Veggies. TV or movie? Movie. Flannel or sweater? Flannel. Would you rather pause time or rewind it? Rewind it. When you’re driving, passenger or driver?

Driver. Instagram or Facebook? Actually no social media right now. Wow. Yeah. Take a bit of a break. You know what, that’s a fair no answer question. That is a fair one. We will accept that. Yeah. Sweet or savory? Sweet. Dogs or cats? Dogs. Crunchy or smooth peanut butter? Crunchy. So controversial. I love it. Weekends or holidays?

Holidays. That’s a hard one. The answers are- that is a tough one. Yeah. But you were, you’re following directions. You did a great job. Last question, pancakes or waffles? Waffles. KB Waffle House. Ooh, Waffle House. That’s true. Sign me up. That sounds amazing. Well Taylor, you crushed it. We love having you on here. I can’t wait-

here’s kind of your homework for now. Okay. We need Teletubbies photos next month. So you’ve got about a month to get them. Just take your time. Would really love to hear back about your favorite Juicy J songs, because that’s incredible. Can you prepare, if you’re joining us in December when the entire company gets together, there may be a request for you to do a performance.

So you have some time to prepare for that. That’s good. And we want to see if you guys carve a pumpkin. That’s the last thing, but that’s it. Or if you read a book, you can tell us about that too. Sounds like’s you got a ton on the list as well. Sounds like a game plan. Thanks so much for joining us, Taylor. Thanks Taylor. Enjoy the rest of your week.
