Assuming you don’t suck, of course.

How to build internal community and attract people to you company in 1 step:

????Hold a recurring meeting to brainstorm and discuss the ‘now’ issues in your industry. Optional but open to all.

I’ve mentioned before that we doubled in size last year. And 40% of people who joined first heard of us through our social presence.

Not my feed. Not Jeff’s. Not Matt’s. Not the company account.

The whole damn team. Everyone at Hirewell combined.

If you’re a leader slash social talking head at your company, people will take what you say with a grain of salt.

You might be 100% legit. You might be 100% bullsh*t.

People might like you and dig your schtick. But in the back of their minds, there’s always some doubt. We all inherently know that things said on social have a motive.

But people do trust your team. More than Glassdoor. More than your crappy corporate-speak employer brand. Certainly more than some paid for Best Of list.

Making 2 big assumptions (they dig the vibe and are actually allowed to speak freely), one big question remains: what the hell do people talk about?

The ideas are always the hardest part. So we have a biweekly meeting where we just brainstorm.

What questions do our clients have? Job seekers? What are the biggest struggles? What changes are we seeing?

And by doing this, 3 things happen:

  1. Everyone gets a voice is what the entire org talks about.
  2. A community is built. People on different teams have another avenue to build relationships across the org.
  3. I get more topics to sh*tpost about. (As does everyone else.)

We don’t sell this stuff. I don’t care if your org does it or not.

But it works.
