Liz and Shania love the Super Bowl commercials, and a standout this year was the “DunKings” commercial that Dunkin’ Donuts put out. As Ben Affleck barges into JLo’s workday, people who work from home can definitely relate to that eye roll moment.
Hey everyone, welcome back to another week of Recruiting Reality, the show where we pair up hot topics in the entertainment industry with some helpful recruiting tips. And this weekend was the Super Bowl, the big game, and as you could have guessed it, one of our favorite parts of the Super Bowl are the wonderful, amazing commercials.
And I feel like this year was definitely a step up from years prior. I agree. I will- I’m the Swifty. I will admittedly say I only tune in for the commercials and I would love some guesses. I hope people are guessing what commercial are we talking about based on our very bright attire. But we are connecting the, at this point, infamous DunKings commercial to work from home struggles.
Tell us about the commercial, Shania. Yeah. It’s just, I mean, it starts off, everyone should watch it for themselves. First of all, if you haven’t already seen it, because it’s literally flooding, I think every social media account, but you just doors open flings in JLo standing there like, uh, excuse me, why are you here trying to work day?
I’m trying to work. I told you not to barge in. And I feel like that is so relatable for people who work from home at Hirewell. We have a complete everyone works from home. And that’s happened to me so many times, whether that’s my husband, like peeking around the corner to see if I’m in a meeting. And then his face is just like, right here on the back of my video camera. Or if I’m working from my grandma’s house, she’ll like to come by and do a nice little wave. Even though I told her like, “Hey, this is an important meeting.” And it’s just, it happens all the time. There’s no ill intent, but it just, it’s always just very comical. It is. And I think that’s really honestly what we take from it.
That’s just part of working remote. Go with the groove. It’s okay if grandma walks by the meeting or if the baby comes in. I love the shift that has been made in remote work in kind of allowing that to happen. And, you know, we’re all about it. Yeah. Yeah, we love it. I mean, the only times that it can be a negative or maybe if it’s an interview, but hopefully the interviewer that’s there is just being nice and being considerate of the situation.
And that’s one thing I would say for interviewers to just always realize there’s a lot of stuff going on and to give a little bit of grace. Exactly. Well, after you watch this episode, log on to YouTube or whatever, watch the DunKings episode and let us know what you think.
